第25話「神在月が始まる」

出雲地方では神々が集まる神在月が今月に始まります。他の地方では神無月ですが、今年は 東京にも集まるみたいです笑。

10月3〜9日にシネマート新宿でレトロスペクティブが始まります。『ポルノスター』『空中 庭園』『⻘い春』『蘇りの血』『モンスターズクラブ』『アイム・フラッシュ!』『ナインソウ ルズ』の上映があります。作品チョイスはシネマート新宿の宮森さん。僕も毎日、舞台挨拶に参上します。『蘇りの血』は新たにDCP化されたもので、今回がDCP 初上映になりま す。大きなスクリーンでブーストサウンドで楽しんでいただければ嬉しく思います。

10 月 10 日からはユーロスペースにて『そういうものに、わたしはなりたい。』の公開とな ります。『生きている。』『ここにいる。』『すぐにゆく。』に『雨にも負けず』宮沢賢治の詩をアレンジして、切腹ピストルズと作りました。振り返るとなかなか凄い三年間だったなと改めて思いました。制作の想いはパンフに書きました。飯田団紅デザインで二人で制作しました。豪華な分厚いパンフとなっています。

さらに、10 月 10 日から代官山のギャラリーAL で『BONIN ISLANDS DREAMING 新世 紀をサヴァイヴァルする 100 の心得』の展示があります。ギャラリーを映画館のように暗闇にして未発表の新作映像を流します。『ある惑星の誘惑』。小笠原諸島に 4 年間居た頃 に撮り溜めた夕陽の作品です。50 分あるので、ゆっくり座り込んで眺めてもらいたいです。 この展示会は 4 月に逝去した森永博志さんの追悼でもあります。生前、書いてもらった『プラネティスト 100 か条』も展示、プレゼントします。その詳細は AL の HP でご覧ください。

そして、10 月 17 日から『次元を超える』が全国公開になります。僕にとって勝負作となる 本作。どうなるやらと緊張していますが、是非、劇場でお楽しみ下さい。

その後、10 月 28 日に『次元を超える LIVE』を開催します。これも出演者が多くて大変な のですが、また追って報告します。ライブ中、僕は VJ として、この日限りの一本の映画の ような映像をリアルタイムに投射します。『次元』だけでなく、過去作を一挙にカットで映 写し続ける、ライブシネマを久しぶりにやります。

そんな感じで、どうやらクライマックスは近づいているようです。 僕と仲間たちの 2025 年の祭りです。健康でいて下さい。

Episode 24 “The Month of the Gods Begins”

In the Izumo region, the Month of the Gods—when all the deities gather—begins this month. In other regions it’s called the Month Without Gods, but apparently this year they’re coming to Tokyo too (lol).

From October 3–9, a retrospective will kick off at Cinemart Shinjuku,screening Pornostar, Kūchū Teien (Hanging Garden), Blue Spring, The Blood of Rebirth, Monsters Club, I’m Flash!, and Nine Souls. The program was curated by Mr. Miyamori of Cinemart Shinjuku. I’ll also be there every day to greet theaudience. The Blood of Rebirth has been newly transferred to DCP, and this will be its first DCP screening. I’d be delighted if you could enjoy it on the big screen with boosted sound.

From October 10, “I Want to Become That Kind of Thing” will open at Eurospace. Together with Seppuku Pistols, we arranged Kenji Miyazawa’s poem “Be Not Defeated by the Rain” to go with Living., Here I Am., and I’ll Be There Soon.Looking back, I realize these three years have been truly intense. I wrote about my thoughts on the production in the pamphlet, which I created together with Dannkō Iida. Designed by Iida, it’s a luxurious and thick booklet.

Furthermore, from October 10, Gallery AL in Daikanyama will host theexhibition “BONIN ISLANDS DREAMING: 100 Guidelines for Surviving the New Century.” The gallery will be darkened like a movie theater to screen unreleased new video works. Temptation of a Certain Planet is a 50-minute sunset piece filmed over four years in the Ogasawara Islands. I hope you’ll sit and take your time with it. This exhibition also serves as a tribute to Hiroshi Morinaga, who passed away in April. His 100 Rules of the Planetist, which he wrote for me while alive, will also be displayed and given away. And then, from October 17, “Transcending Dimensions” will be released nationwide. This is a decisive work for me; I’m nervous about how it will turn out, but please do enjoy it in the theater.

After that, on October 28 we’ll hold “Transcending Dimensions LIVE.” This one has a lot of performers and is quite a production, but I’ll share more details later. During the live show I’ll be acting as VJ, projecting a one-of-a-kind film-like visual experience in real time. Not only Transcending Dimensions but also cuts from past works will be continuously projected—a “live cinema” performance I’m doing again after a long while.

It feels like we’re approaching the climax.This is our festival for 2025—my friends’ and mine. Please stay healthy.
